Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). 1.  Embassy Madrid ESTH Officer Ken Forder hopes to 
participate in reftel conference June 20-24.  Confirmation of 
his participation depends on financial arrangements.  Total 
cost of participation is expected to run USD 2,668.00.  This 
breaks down as follows: 
 
Round Trip airfare Madrid to Washington D.C. - 1,250.00 
Taxis (including airport to hotel and back) - 175.00 
6 nights hotel - 918.00 
6.5 days of M, I and E - 325.00. 
 
2.  Embassy Madrid only has resources to fund the travel 
component of the trip (round trip airfare and taxis - USD 
1,425.00).  Forder would be able to attend the conference if 
the Department could fund lodging and M, I and E expenses 
(USD 1,243.00).  Please advise ASAP (and before May 2 hotel 
reservatioon cutoff date) via EMail to Forder 
(forderk@state.gov).
