(U) U.S. desk officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 
Javier Diaz, told poloff April 19 that Venezuelan Foreign 
Minister Ali Rodriguez and Vice Minister Maria Pilar 
(Maripili) Hernandez would be leading the delegation to the 
Community of Democracies meeting in Chile.  Diaz said the 
delegation would be in Chile April 27-30, but Rodriguez would 
likely attend for a shorter period of time.  Diaz noted that 
the GOV agenda initiatives for the meeting was still 
undecided.
