Understanding cables

Econ/Commercial Officer March 14 delivered reftel message 
concerning the ban of lighters on flights to, from and within 
the U.S. to Ahmed Nemat Ali, Director of Air Transport, Civil 
Aviation Affairs, Ministry of Transportation.  Ali said that 
carriers do not fly directly between the U.S. and Bahrain, 
but he appreciated the information.  He commented that 
officials at airports flying to the U.S. should appropriately 
confiscate lighters.
