Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

1.   POST WISHES TO SUBMIT AND/OR UPDATE THE FOLLOWING 
  NAMES AND INFORMATION IN CLASS IN ACCORDANCE WITH VIPER 
  PROCEDURES: 
 
2.   SPANISH PRESS OF MARCH 20, 2005 REPORTED THAT 
  FRENCH AND SPANISH POLICE CONDUCTED AN OPERATION THAT 
  ENDED IN THE ARREST IN LE CAP D'ADGE, MONTPELLIER, 
  FRANCE OF THE THREE ETA ACTIVISTS MENTIONED BELOW. THE 
  POLICE ALSO SEARCHED THE APARTMENT AND A VEHICLE AND 
  SEIZED A PISTOL GUN, CHEMICALS FOR POSSIBLE USE IN THE 
  MANUFACTURING OF EXPLOSIVES, DOCUMENTS, SEVERAL FRENCH 
  AND SPANISH FALSE LICENSE PLATES AND FALSE SPANISH AND 
  BASQUE POLICE IDENTIFICATION PLATES. 
 
3.   NAME: ARIETALEANIZ TELLERIA, INAKI 
 
  -    ALIAS: "BIXKAI" 
-    GENDER: MALE 
-    DPOB: 37 YEARS OLD, VERGARA, GUIPUZCOA, SPAIN 
-    CLASS: NEGATIVE 
-    HE WAS PREVIOUSLY ARRESTED IN 1993 ON TERRORIST 
CHARGES AND RECEIVED A 19 YEAR-SENTENCE.  HE FLED TO 
FRANCE IN 2002 WHILE UNDER CONDITIONAL STATUS.  IN 2003 
THE SPANISH COURT ISSUED AN INTERNATIONAL WARRANT FOR 
HIS ARREST.  POLICE INVESTIGATORS HAVE STATED THAT 
ARIETALEANIZ IS PART OF ETA'S EXTORTION NETWORK.  HIS 
FINGERPRINTS WERE FOUND ON SOME OF THE 700 HUNDRED 
LETTERS ETA SENT TO ENTERPRENEURS AND BUSINESSMEN. 
 
4.   NAME: AYMAR ALTUNA, IJURKO 
 
  -    GENDER: MALE 
-    DPOB: 1976, IBARRA, GUIPUZCOA, SPAIN 
-    CLASS: NEGATIVE 
-    HE WAS IDENTIFIED AS ONE OF THE TERRORISTS WHO 
PARTICIPATED IN A BOMBING CAMPAIGN IN THE AREA. 
 
5.   NAME: ARANALDE IJURKO, AYMAR 
 
  -    GENDER: FEMALE 
-    DPOB: SEP. 1982, IBARRA, GUIPUZCOA, SPAIN 
-    CLASS: NEGATIVE 
-    POLICE BELIEVE SHE WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF ETA'S 
COMMANDO "ZELATUN-DONOSTI" UNTIL THE END OF 2002.
