WARNING CENTER 
 
1.  This is an action request.  Post received a Diplomatic 
Note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs providing the GSL 
Point of Contact for the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. 
Post would appreciate Department passing this information to 
the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.  Post will also fax a 
copy of the Note to the Center.  Below is the text of the

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist 
Republic of Sri Lanka presents its compliments to the 
Embassy of the United States of America and has the honour 
to inform that Mr. G.H.P. Dharmaratna, Director General of 
the Department of Meteorology will be the designated focal 
point of the Government of Sri Lanka to receive Tsunami 
Watch Information (TWI) from the Pacific Tsunami Warning 
Centre.

will function as the Interim National Focal Point to 
receive/disseminate Tsunami warnings/advisories are as
