1.  Post delivered 8/23 reftel information regarding 
applications to overfly Iraq to Director General of the UAE 
Civil Aviation Authority Mohamed Al-Ghaith and Ministry of 
Communications Assistant Undersecretary for Civil Aviation 
Mohamed Al-Suweidi.  Econoff also forwarded the NOTAM to 
the office of Abu Dhabi Department of Civil Aviation 
Chairman Shaykh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, who also 
serves on Gulf Air's Executive Board. 
 
2.  Consul General Dubai delivered the information 
contained in the NOTAM to Emirates Air executives 
separately. 
 
3.  This cable has been coordinated with Amconsul Dubai.
