HIGH-LEVEL ATTENDANCE AND REQUESTS FOR MEETINGS

REF: STATE 68590

On August 3, PolOff requested information on Yemen's UN
General Assembly attendance from Mr. Mohamed Abdul Qader,
United Nations section official in the International
Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
(MFA). PolOff informed Qader of all pertinent dates and
urged the host government to apply for visas as soon as
possible per reftel demarche. Qader stated that the
delegation will not be selected until the end of August, but
that the ROYG usually sends two to three officials headed by
the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Qader agreed to inform
PolOff as soon as more details become available.
