Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

Discussing cables
If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). ΒΆ1. (SBU) Per reftel talking points were delivered to Mr. 
Andrew Maswanganye, Director Safety, Security and Bilateral 
Affairs - South Africa Department of Transport and to Ms. 
Nokwazi Mtshali, Americas Desk - South Africa Department of 
Foreign Affairs on 21 August.  No response was received by 
host government. Follow up contact was made with Mr. 
Maswanganye on 15 September.  Post awaits a response from 
host governent and will forward when received.
